Are rising gas prices the new silent killer?

Are you prepared to spend $4 per gallon for gas?
If not, get ready because that's on our horizon.
Just think about what great news this is to our so called enemies. It's a new form of terrorism. Strike out at the masses where it hurts most. Imagine the impact that a long term gas crisis will have on our economy. Next, think about where we might be at if we weren't in this ridiculous war in Iraq, that we are now fighting practically alone. And all the while, Bush gets to have lengthy vacations, and it becomes news when he cuts one of those short by a few days.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.
There's been talk about a nationwide trucking strike which could last up to 2 weeks. Basically, the cargo transport biz is really taking a hit, and many truckers are now seeing their income dwindle to the point of nearly working for free.
Is this the America we all worked so hard for?
I don't think so...

Jack Saves Dog

I was out walking my dog pal Lakota the other day when I prevented a tragic accident from occuring. There I am, walking along when my dog spots an unleashed dog across the street from us. It was at the end of a long driveway at the top of a hill. The dog noticed Lakota, and began to run at full speed in our direction. Of course, Lakota is quite adorable, so what male dog can resist the opportunity for a good butt sniffing?
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a car also heading in our direction, and it was obvious that a collision was about to occur. I quickly stepped into the street, waved my arms and did my best to bring out my inner crossing guard. The driver looked a little pissed, and I probably did look paniced and crazy, but he stopped anyhow. I then yelled at the dog, and it stopped too.
Tragedy prevented!
The owner came running up to us and thanked me several times, and the driver wiped his brow in relief and went on his way.
No butt sniffing took place.
Lakota and I walked proudly home, and it sure felt good to do something that made a difference.

Jack meets girl

That's right. You heard it here first. On Sunday, August 7th 2005 I spent the most wonderful day ever with an amazing girl. We found each other at a perfect time in both of our lives. I am in love...
The rest is private. It's our story. Stay tuned to see what happens next.
