What if we protested Bush and the war by not paying our taxes?

I wonder what would happen if a mass amount of Americans decided to not pay there taxes this year as a form of protest?
Would the IRS attack and audit all of the protesters? Of course they would.
Personally, I think this form of protest would send a clear message, despite the risk involved. Think about it...Bush is in office because of an election and he led us into this disgusting war...but many of us didn't vote for him, and the election itself was a farce, as was his initial one.
Shouldn't we the taxpaying people be able to say "No, we are not funding your administration anymore" and "No, we the people are not paying to make the world a worse place and make the world look down upon us"
