Jack Saves Dog
I was out walking my dog pal Lakota the other day when I prevented a tragic accident from occuring. There I am, walking along when my dog spots an unleashed dog across the street from us. It was at the end of a long driveway at the top of a hill. The dog noticed Lakota, and began to run at full speed in our direction. Of course, Lakota is quite adorable, so what male dog can resist the opportunity for a good butt sniffing?
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a car also heading in our direction, and it was obvious that a collision was about to occur. I quickly stepped into the street, waved my arms and did my best to bring out my inner crossing guard. The driver looked a little pissed, and I probably did look paniced and crazy, but he stopped anyhow. I then yelled at the dog, and it stopped too.
Tragedy prevented!
The owner came running up to us and thanked me several times, and the driver wiped his brow in relief and went on his way.
No butt sniffing took place.
Lakota and I walked proudly home, and it sure felt good to do something that made a difference.
