My bad experience with our Healthcare system, and GW goes to POT
I'm posting this so I can remember my bad experience with a healthcare facility.
During the process of taking care of my f'd up back, I used my health insurance companies website to find a Dr. to take care of me.
So, away I go, and i'm rushed in, prescribed a bunch of meds, and rushed on my way.
This Dr. barely took a look at me, seemed to be in a huge rush to get out of there, and although I was impressed with her use of the word "crap", I felt a little uneasy about how she dealt with me. I practically had to crawl into her office. She asked if I had high blood pressure, which I don't, although at the emergency room the day before it was thru the roof due to pain. Shouldn't she have taken a moment to check it herself. Noooooooo...she was in a hurry, and prescribed me the standard bunch of things they give to people with my injury.
As I was leaving the office, they told me it would take about 2 days to get authorization for physical therapy and for my MRI. Well, I got the authorization for PT, but 10 days later and 5 phone calls, still no MRI. I also left a message with my Dr's voicemail telling her that it seemed I was getting worse, not better.
I went to the MRI Friday night, and I just couldn't do it because of the pain. It takes about 40 min. for an MRI, but I couldn't even handle 20 seconds on the table.
4 tries later and I was on my way home. The tech advised me to call my Dr immediately and have her prescribe meds to sedate me to get me thru the MRI.
I did so, and never got a call back, even though I used words like "urgent and emergency"
Needless to say, I won't be going back to see her.
Fucking ridiculous with a capital DIC!
In other news, our wonderfull federal goverment today decided that they could prosecute people who use medical marijuana as prescribed by doctors. This includes cancer patients and others who can't find relief any other way. Isn't that great.
Perhaps these patients should turn to drinking heavily. At least that's legal, and is probably a practice shared by members of Congress, GW and much of the government.
Oh, I forgot, GW once had a coke habit and a drinking problem. Something to ponder, eh?
